in 1965 and 1966, Shelby installed a reinforcement bracket at the firewall to stiffen the area where the export brace connected to the firewall. This steel bracket, made of simple angle iron, used a different 4 bolt pattern than what was already in place for stock shock tower braces on the Mustang. Shelby therefore used a different export brace that had this new "even" bolt spacing.
This export brace is an exact replica of the one used by Shelby American and will therefore NOT bolt up to a regular Mustang unless you reinforce the cowl/firewall area with a Shelby Reinforcement Plate.
