This is the steel backing plate that rivets onto the lip of the hood, between the hood and the hood molding on all 1970 Mustangs. For the longest time, all you could get was a cheaper Taiwan version of this part that did not fit quite right. A small manufacturer in the US has now started making exact replicas of the originals that fit perfectly. Yes, we could still order you that cheaper reproduction and save you $20... but trust me, this part actually fits and will save your paint and some frustration!
