1985-1995 Mustang Heavy Duty T-5 Cluster Support Plate

Heavy Duty T-5 Cluster Support Plate. Fits all World Class T-5 5 Speed Transmissions. Both Ford and GM. Plate is constructed out of Billet T6061 Aluminum. Plate attaches to rear part of main case to reinforce the area between the two rear bearing journals. In addition, the plate upgrades the end user from a Stamped Steel Design. The Stamped Steel Design has issues that make this Plate an Excellent Upgrade for all T-5 Users.

Issues include the stock plate allowing end play on a Cluster Gear that was set correctly when assembled/repaired. Side thrust from the gears causes extreme pressure against the stock plate allowing the area where the rear cluster gear shims and Race sit to warp...creating lateral movement of the Cluster Gear. Lateral Movement of the cluster gear will cause an uneven wear pattern to develop on corresponding gears...creating a higher chance of gear failure. Another issue with the stock stamped steel plate is that the tangs that are supposed to be pressed against the bolt will tear off when using a punch to lock them away or against the bolts.

This Upgraded Billet Plate fixes the issues mentioned above. This Cluster Support Plate is made in the USA! These are Anodized Red and include 4 metric bolts, and an assortment of shims to help set preload on the bearings for the cluster gear. No modification is needed to install with Stock Design Ford and GM Overdrives.
