In order to clear the float bowl adjusting screws on top of the Holley 735 carburetors, Ford used a special extra-thick gasket on top of the air horn that lifted the air cleaner base just enough. So that folks wouldn't lose this special gasket, Ford coated one side of it with a red glue/paint that made the gasket stick to the air cleaner.
