Some people prefer to add the old style fuel filter to their engines for added protection. Ford used this cannister style pump on many vehicles, but did NOT use it on the 67-69 390-4V Mustang. It does add fuel cleaning protection, and they do look period correct, so many folks put them on their Mustangs.
