Scott Drake started with a set of used, but excellent condition, Ford original Spindles, to create 3D scans which were then used for CAD modeling and then double-checked against original Ford blueprints. No corners were cut on this critical component - they are constructed from FORGED ASTM 5140 grade steel with a protective black e-coating before being precision machined. All Drake spindles are 100% Magnetic Particle Tested as well. These spindles also fit a wide variety of 1960s Ford and Mercury cars. These are the Spindles used on DRUM BRAKE V8 Mustangs from 1967-1969, as well as Disc Brake V8 Mustangs in1967 ONLY (not Factory Disc Brakes in 1968-1969). These are also the spindles that are required to convert a Drum brake car to Disc brakes from 1967-1969 as the many kits we sell to do that are ALL based on the 1967 style Kelsey-Hayes brakes system. In other words: If you have a 67-69 Mustang with a 6-Cyl and you want to install V8 5-Lug wheels with Front Disc Brakes, you need these and a Leed conversion kit.
