GT Pop Open gas cap. These reproduction gas caps come with either the 1967 style Black "GT" lettering, or the 1968 style Red "GT" lettering. Either will fit any 1967 or 1968 Mustang of any body style.
Original Pop Off gas caps used a spring loaded seal that pressed against the fuel tank filler neck. These could unexpectantly spring open and release gas if the caps were not clicked into place properly, or if the car went over a serious bump! These reproduction caps can either be setup exactly like the originals, OR they come with an optional regular screw in gas cap that can be used in place of the spring loaded seal. This safer alternative is completely hidden once the cap is closed to maintain the original look either way.
