This kit is to be used when intalling 1984-1993 A.O.D. transmission into an 1965-1973 Mustang and retain the factory 65/73 shift lever. Designed to allow the use of a Ford factory OEM shifter inside the car with an A.O.D. transmission underneath it! The included lever and shaft assembly going into the transmission must be replaced in order to ensure correct spacing and ratio with shifter. The most difficult part of this operation is changing that manual lever in the transmission.
