This is our #1 selling harmonic balancer for 5.0 Mustangs with a 28oz crankshaft. Most 347 and 331 stroker kits, all pre 1981 289/302 crankshafts, and all 351w engines have a 28oz imbalance crankshaft, which means that you cannot use your original 5.0 50oz balancer. This is dimensionally identical to the original 5.0 balancer, so no spacers are required. A new flywheel or flexplate will also be required when installing an engine with a 28oz crank. See SF05S (comes with both 50 and 28oz weights) for standard transmission cars, and 04352 for AOD's.
The POWERBOND RACE series brings the advantages of bonded balancers to high revving race and street/race applications where an SFI approval is required.Every POWERBOND RACE series balancer features a precision CNC machined AUS 1045 steel centre bonded to an equally strong steel inertia ring. Advanced design means that race series balancers are very light for an all steel product. An most cases they are only marginally heavier than the original cast iron balancer and generally much lighter than all steel balancers on the market. The steel inertia ring of the race series models is positively protected against forward and backward movement and has the assurance of bonded rubber to eliminate spinning.
Every model has easy to read computer etched timing marks. All POWERBOND RACE series meet SFI specification 18.1.
